2010 rule addition is shown in purple - Derrick Powell Controller
Normal League
rules and laws of chess will apply unless overridden below.
"Clubs must designate their team with the highest grade average as their A team, the next highest as their B team etc" A player can take part in one team only. (Unless Rule 9 applies)
Captains will toss for colours.
As in League matches each player is allowed 1 hour and 35 minutes of play
In a drawn match the lowest board result must be deleted (repeatedly if necessary) until a result is obtained. If all games are drawn the team with black on board 1 wins.
In the first round the second named team will play at home thereafter the controller will announce the venue, unless the teams agree otherwise.
The final will be at a neutral venue and if applicable on a "neutral" evening unless the teams agree otherwise.
Matches must
be played in the scheduled week unless the teams agree to play earlier
(but not later), a team
unable to do so forfeits the match.
The winning team captain should notify the result to the controller as soon as possible by telephone and also send the match card to the controller and also inform the Association website SCORE CARD LINK
Members of eliminated teams can play for HIGHER teams still in the competition, but not for lower teams.
Disputes will be heard by the League "Rules and Disputes Committee" plus the controller. This Group's decision will be final.
